We believe that God created mankind in His own image. This is the core of our self-worth and the basis for how we relate to others. God also issued the mandate to subdue the earth and exercise dominion over it. This is the key to understanding the world around us and to learning how we can use this understanding to bring glory to God. From English to music, language to math, science to P. E., computers to drama; every subject we teach comes out of God’s creation and is a tool to maximize the usefulness of His world. Subduing and exercising dominion over creation means shaping God’s world towards its ideal. This includes taking care of His creation and utilizing its resources to reach others and to share the love of God.

We believe that this goal can and should be accomplished through many different academic disciplines and career choices. This is the driving force behind the unparalleled academic program at OVCA. Effectively preparing students with a Biblical world view and equipping them academically will enable them to live Matthew 5:16 in virtually any career path they choose.
